Review: Skyway to Hell by Jerrie Alexander
Binge-worthy romantic suspense!
This is the first book I’ve by this author and I suspect it won’t be the last. I’ll definitely be going back through the series but luckily you don’t need to have read the previous books to follow the story.
I adore a good romantic suspense and Skyway to Hell offered everything I crave in this genre--gritty drama, heart-pounding suspense, a heroine determined to make her mark on life and a believable serial killer. Ms. Alexander ensures you know exactly what to expect from the beginning with unflinching descriptions and superbly clean writing just perfect for suspense as she introduces the killer with a back story that will pull on most hearts.
This doesn’t stop you from wanting Ashley and Dalton to catch the killer, though. Ms. Alexander weaves a believable tale of twists and turns as this grumpy, almost lone-wolf hero and determined heroine work together to solve the case. The chemistry between them is palpable and develops quickly enough so you’re not feeling frustrated but teases beautifully, never quite leaving you certain where it will go until right at the end.
Add in a great cast who offer support in all the right places (namely convincing Dalton to believe in love), fast dialogue, and writing that never lets you down, I struggled to put this book down. The story pulls you along superbly, giving you a truly satisfying end. I really loved Dalton and Ashley together and Dalton’s eventual vulnerability over her which always pulls on the heartstrings for me.
I recommend this book to all lovers of romantic suspense in need of realistic characters, writing that won’t let you down, a good dose of heat, and a couple you won’t forget easily.
